Bordeaux has long been the standard-bearer for crafting some of the world’s finest and most sought-after wines. The region has a long history of winemaking that dates back all the way to the 1st century A.D. The Bordeaux region has been producing wine for centuries. Yet their most important bit of history was the Classification of 1855. Which set a strict guideline of how the wineries in the region are recognized as well as providing more quality to the winemaking practices of the time.

Although the system is tiered from first growth all the way to fifth growth, those under the first-growth classification garner attention from wine lovers across the globe. As of 1973 only five Chateaus are deemed worthy of first growth status: Chateau Haut-Brion, Chateau Lafite-Rothschild, Chateau Latour, Chateau Margaux, and Chateau Mouton-Rothschild. These five estates are considered the pinnacle of fine wine and are seen in the absolute best wine retailers and restaurants in the world.

In my travels I often visit wine bars, retails, and high-end restaurants on the hunt for providers of these elusive wines. Throughout my travels I have never come across a single store that offers a multitude of vintages and quantities of these wines except for one shop, my beloved, Imbibe Wine & Spirits. Currently we have 30 first growth bottles in house that span across 6 different vintages. Below are the vintages and pricing on such bottles.
